Trump signals possible end to Iran war sets condition on Hormuz security

US President Donald Trump has said that the United States may soon move toward ending its military operations against Iran. He shared this statement on Truth Social and indicated that the US is close to achieving its objectives.

Trump said that the US is considering a gradual end to its major military actions in the Middle East. He added that this step depends on the situation around the Strait of Hormuz which remains a key global oil route.

He stated that countries using the Strait of Hormuz should take responsibility for its security. He also said the US may assist if needed but long term responsibility should not remain with America.

The Strait of Hormuz carries nearly 20 percent of the world oil supply which makes it highly important for global trade and energy stability.

Trump also claimed that US actions have significantly weakened Iran military strength. He said Iran missile capability has been destroyed and its military industrial system has been severely damaged. He added that steps have been taken to ensure Iran cannot develop nuclear weapons.

Despite these statements reports suggest that US officials are also reviewing the possibility of deploying ground troops. Senior officials at the Pentagon are said to be discussing potential strategies including handling detained Iranian soldiers if deployment happens.
Trump has earlier said he does not plan to send ground troops but also noted that such decisions would not be publicly disclosed in advance.

The US Central Command has not confirmed any plans and has refused to comment on speculation.
Trump has repeatedly emphasized the importance of the Strait of Hormuz. He warned that any attempt by Iran to block oil movement would lead to a strong US response. He also criticized NATO allies for not contributing enough to secure the route.
