Anant Ambani Donates 25 Electric Buses to TTD, Giving a Major Boost to Tirumala’s Green Mobility

One of India’s most prominent religious destinations, Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), has received a major boost towards sustainable transportation. Reliance Industries Executive Director Anant Ambani has donated 25 state-of-the-art electric buses to TTD. The estimated value of these buses is around ₹27.5 crore. The initiative is being seen as a significant step toward strengthening eco-friendly transportation in Tirumala.

According to reports, the contribution goes beyond just the electric buses. Reliance Group will also bear the salaries of 50 bus drivers and develop modern EV charging infrastructure in Tirumala to ensure the smooth operation of the electric fleet. This will further strengthen TTD’s growing electric vehicle (EV) fleet.

During his recent visit to Tirumala, Anant Ambani offered prayers at the Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple and participated in traditional religious rituals. On the occasion, he also announced support for the modernization of TTD’s goshala (cow shelter). The project is expected to be developed based on the experience of Reliance’s Vantara initiative, aiming to enhance animal care and welfare facilities.

Every year, millions of devotees visit the Tirumala temple. With the addition of these electric buses, pilgrims will benefit from cleaner, safer, and more comfortable transportation. The initiative will also reduce dependence on diesel-powered vehicles, lower carbon emissions, and contribute to environmental conservation.

TD has already been working towards making its transport system more sustainable and modern. The addition of 25 new electric buses will further accelerate these efforts. Experts believe that such green initiatives at religious destinations can not only help protect the environment but also serve as a model for other pilgrimage sites across the country.
